I’m having a June wedding, and I would like some unique idea’s for Reception table center pieces on a 6 ft banquet table, and for wedding favors for my guests. I’m trying to keep it as inexpensive as possible but still look good. My colors are red, black, and white. White table cloth, black plates, with red accents (napkins things like that). Our wedding is fairly casual, and we are getting married in the same hall as our reception, do our guests will be sitting at the tables while we are wed… I am pretty crafty so I would like to do this myself.. kind of home-made!! thanks all for your input or experience in this!!!!

I thought some of the best center pieces I have seen were bowls (or you could use containers) filled with water and rose petals. You could use any type of flower petals.

I’m placing gerbera daisy blossoms in a water garden on a mirror with three votives and petals on the mirror. Mirror $1.00 rented votives and candles @ $$$ store about $1.05 per table. Blooms from Trader Joes. $3.99 plus tax for 10 blooms. T. Joe’s can’t guarantee the colors but said since they sell so many they’d let me pick through and get the ones I wanted but they come in reds and pinks usually. A case of 12 bunches is about 50 dollars. farmer’s Markets are also a great resource for fresh, inexpensive, in season local flowers. Paired with dollar store vases or other interesting containers.

Here’s a great website to help:

I’d also recommend going to the wedding channel on ivillage.com They have a message board for DIY.

Candles with Norwegian love knots glued on, or candles in vases with colored glass marbles in the bottom, rose petals scattered around them.
