buying flowers online?

by DIY wedding planner on September 9, 2012

Has anyone tried buying wedding flowers online and making your own DIY bouquets/centrepieces? I read about in a bridal magazine and I’ve also looked up a few other flower websites, but I’m skeptical about their legitimacy. Any opinions?

I have only heard great things about Do like a trial run. Only order like a simple dozen of roses for Christmas, a birthday, something. Then see how they are. See if they are timely and good quality. Good Luck! :)

Yes, I have purchased from

They have ALL types of flowers, not just roses, but I did purchase roses. I can vouch for their on-time delivery and accuracy of color. I, like you, was very afraid and skeptical, but you actually DO speak with someone there. When they said that they would arrive between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., they were EXACTLY right.

I did not, however, do the bouquets. These were ordered and made up for centerpieces at my son’s wedidng.

I’ve had great experiences ordering flowers for delivery. I use a number of sources and they’ve all been great. Internet florists usually have inexpensive flowers that are better quality than regular florists because the flower arrangement is sent out from the grower to you. With a regular florist shop the flowers travel from the grower to the flower shop then to you, so the flowers are handled more and there are more chances for something to go wrong and it seems they don’t last as long.

But for a wedding you don’t want to take any chances so go to a reputable online florist, one with good reviews and great prices. Here are some reviews of online flowers delivery services.
