Okay, I bought a bunch of old jelly and jam jars at a garage sale. Probably close to 75-maybe 100 jars, different sizes. I need either “center piece” or just lighting ideas. Like maybe I can put candles in the jars. But what else? Any ideas? My colors are Navy blue and white. Flowers are sunflowers, and its a causal wedding and reception. Thanks in advance!:) Pictures would be great too!

You can fill the large ones with sunflowers and some navy glass beads in the bottom, while using the smaller ones for candles!

Use Floralytes and clear gems in the jars. I’m using giant margarita glasses for my centerpieces. Here is a pic:

I also got lots of ideas from this site. Take a look around and be inspired (just don’t pay their hefty prices for stuff you can get at Michaels or AC Moore for alot less):

u could fill the jars up with water and stuff a few small white flowers or fill them up half way and play small tea lite candles on the water, they’ll float on top of the water and the light will reflect off the glass and water.

The sunflowers might be too big, but daisies would be very cute in the jars! Kind of like a summer feeling when you pick some flowers and stick them in a jar when you get home. Place 3 different jars of varying heights and sizes together in a group in the center of each table.

If you want to do candles too, then keep them low and scatter them around the jars.

How cute are these? Simple, bright, and fresh!

you could always do lemons but slice them they would look very pretty and they would look good with the navy and then you could put a single sunflower in it.

here are more ideas for the jars

Set those little votive candles in foil (you get them in bags of 25 or so at Walmart) in the little jars. You can then even stack them (use hot glue to hold them together so they don’t spill) to make a casual “candelabra”

If you have quart jars, they can make nice vases for the flowers. Be sure to add fresh ferns for the glasses to sit on – like little green placemats.

If you’re having an outdoor wedding/reception, wrap soft wire around the rims of the glasses so you can hang them from trees. Then pop in a citronella scented votive to help keep the mosquitoes at bay for the event.

This is what I would do. It depends on how many tables you have and all of that. But let’s assume 200 guests 25 tables. That is 4 jars per table if you have 100. And I am sure you can get more jars if you need them. So here are some options. On all of the jars no matter what you put in them tie White eyehole ribbon and navy blue ribbon right around the rim. Fill some of them with a bunch of sunflowers. Fill the others will small tea light candles. My bestfriend just did that and it was beautiful. Then take a huge bag of sunflower seeds…use a little glue and make them into glitter sunflower seeds and sprinkle them around the jars on the table. Unique and will make it sparkle.

I would use plain white table clothes or even navy ones would be pretty. You can also make your own labels for all of the jars. With you and your fiance’s name and the date of your wedding or something cute saying like “Two hearts become one.”

That’s a great idea Addison… If you’re looking for ideas to cover your table with, there’s a great range of fabrics online at http://www.partyfabrics.com and you can search by color or fabric type to find something that fits in perfectly with your theme or colors – and it’s cheap!
