Has anyone made their own wedding decor for the reception? I’m looking for something that me and my girls can do together and that would help add that little something to make the hall beautiful. My colors are various shades of red and white with some silver accents if that helps. I’m also getting married in April and we have a subtle baseball theme if that helps. I was wondering if anyone did anything they’d share or if anyone has any ideas to push the theme or colors?

How about bags of peanuts for a favor?
You could put his and your name on them like yankees vs redsox. Penants around the room – well……..

I hope you’re not having hotdogs though. LOL!

flowers are always a great accent. If you go to

You are able to order 200 roses for 209 dollars. In various red shades would be beautiful.. also

has a great assortment of flowers for a nice price.

I’m doing my own wedding decor, and as long as you know what you want to do it’s very easy. Write down and draw examples of what you’re going for, alsokeep it simple. I think the nicest wedding centerpieces are those that use one type of flower.

I have a couple ideas for you decor wise,

Buy a clear glass vase from your local crafts store, fill it with baseballs, and insert water and 10-20 red or white roses. Surround the base with votive candles you can get them cheap at

You could also push the theme in your favors. Simple white favorboxes you can get at http://www.uline.com for pretty cheap wrapped in a red ribbon. Inside the small white box put something edible you get at a baseball game- peanuts, popcorn, cracker jacks. I wouldn’t go too far with the baseball theme… simple, elegant touches are nice.

Something else you could do is a personalized menu or program. You could get someheavy linen cardstock. Print what you want it to say (either menu or program) place one at every guests seats. Advice: Take your cardstock to fedex kinkos to be printed on and cut.

Anyway, you could print like the cross stitch of the baseball on these menus and tie them with a bow in the middle. It would be an elegant touch, and bring in your theme.

Here is the menu I am envisioning.. but the paper would be white with the baseball stitching printed on it somewhere and a red or silver ribbon.

Hope I was inspiring.

I am using the 70 oz pumpkin jar from this site (my date is Halloween 2009) and going to decorate it.

Not sure exactly how to decorate, but here are my possibles:
~ add candles
~ fill with bite-size halloween candy then give away the centerpieces at the end of the night.
~ put tulle in my wedding colors (black, white & red) inside
