DIY Enchanted Forest/Garden Party Wedding?

by DIY wedding planner on December 11, 2011

I’m very recently engaged and we are planning a May wedding in 2012. I am really leaning toward an Enchanted Forest/Garden Party theme and I’m planning to DIY as much as I possibly can. We are definitely on a budget, but I’m hoping by purchasing things here and there and saving as much as possible, that won’t be an issue at all.
So…I am looking for any and all ideas. Please help! (:

Strings of Christmas lights, of course. And if you have any type of body of water, floating candles. Those can also work as centerpieces on the tables I always think cream roses when I think enchanted. Lace! I would pick out a dress first and then use elements you love from it to dress up your wedding however you want it. Also, if you’re thinking of getting a tent, get paper lanterns! Andd… wood chairs (not white). And an archway. =P
Rent things!!! And I don’t know what craft stores you have by you, but I found these BEAUTIFUL mini urns/flower pots that I want to use as centerpieces for a mere $3.99 a piece! So, definitely utilize those shops, for sure! =)

If you want to DIY would definitely shop early and start in the Spring time that is when all the pretty colors are out. You can do white christmas lights and mix it in with greenery for the enchanted forest effect. Maybe do whimsical butterflies or little birds as an accent. If your venue allows candles that would be nice and enchanted; if not then you can use battery operated candles that twinkle

You have received some wonderful ideas. I wanted to send you a link for this invitation I saw on MyGrafico.

They have other wedding invitation templates, but that one seems to go with your theme. Good luck with your planning!

The biggest tip I can give is to have it at a local rose garden or flower garden. You can spend less on the flowers with all the natural greenery around you.
