DIY wedding invites? any advice?

by DIY wedding planner on December 10, 2011

i plan on doing DIY invites to make sure they come out the way I want them. Well actually i’ll have the help of my BM’s. My wedding colors are deep red, rich orange and ivory. I want really rich, warm, fun colors. But I can’t figure out how to make it show through in my invite. Any ideas? I’m definitely wanting pocket invites! i just love that look…

I’m making my own wedding invitations completely from scratch! And I have FOUR colors in my wedding party!

So for my invites, I did a layered look. Basically it’s just a large border.

White, coral, yellow, then white for where the wording goes. The bow is pale orange and pale yellow. So ALL my colors are incorporated in a way that isn’t tacky or too overpowering!

im making my friends invites, this is what they are. Im going to use a black stamp to do a simple flower design on the bottom of the outside. Its just iridescent paper , and I used vellum for the sheet thats monogramed, but its not glued in at all, just loose. you would need to have a scorer, you could get at a craft store. I work at a paper company, so I have all this stuff to work with!
