I was thinking about buying the wedding invitation kits at Wal*Mart, the one’s you print yourself, for my wedding but i’m a little worried they may not turn out right or whatever. If you have ever used them or know someone who has please let me know! Thanks in advance =)

Have you ever seen the one Seinfeld where George kills his fiance with poisoned wedding invitation envelopes accidentally? Yeah, Georgey boy shops at Wal Mart.

Wal-mart is an easy way to check this subject off the list, and they will work well. But…. Everyone’s gonna say, “they got this at wall-mart” if you have the time, try to be more original.

Good luck

We knew certain distant family members weren’t going to show so we used really good, expensive like invitations created by some lady for the ones who were definitely coming, and we used the cheapy wal-mart print-your-own kind. I liked the wal-mart ones better to be honest. I took elements from our original invitations and used them on the cheapy ones, turned out awesome! And they give you plenty of practice paper to try for the printer and all to see if you like it. Besides, lots of people throw that stuff out, why waste money if that’s the case? Our moms kept theirs but others tossed them.

I used a kit from Michael’s. They are similar to the ones at Wal-Mart and I loved them! The invitations were beautiful with an embossed design and even the envelopes and response cards had designs on them. Instead of printing them myself, I took the invitations to a local print shop and had them set up the font and center everything and then print them. This took a little worry off my hands.

I say “go for it.” The boxed invites are great and most people throw out your invitation anyway. Also, remember that on top of buying invitations you also have to buy a stamp for the response card and a stamp to mail the invite. It really adds up. So if you can save any money I would.

Look at Michael’s, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby and Target for some great boxed invites.

Hope this helps and congrats!

Jessica,

I used the kit from wal-mart and they turned out perfect!! We received a lot compliments on them and was asked where we had them made. I loved mine, we used the Black ones with the ribbon and monogramed tabs.. I loved my invitations!!
