Help me with my wedding favors please?

by DIY wedding planner on January 25, 2012

Let me start by telling you a little about the wedding, I’m a diy bride. Were having a backyard june wedding. Our wedding cake is a cherry blossom white 3 tier cake. Our flower is the star gazer lilly.

Now to the favors, I have about 600 4oz baby food jars I want to use some how. Any ideas?

Honey! It won’t ever spoil (for people who like to keep favors) and it is useful (for people who don’t)!

I had Kale do our wedding video back in June of 2006. I would ronmemecd to people that they should probably budget back on the photographer a little, and put that money towards a great video. Best wedding present we got, thanks Kale!

If they are big enough to put tea lights in you can get tea light candles (that are your wedding colors) and somehow turn the food jars into candle holders. You can find some star gazer lilly stickers or even cherry blossoms stickers or decorations to decorate the jars.

You can even use them to put candy in. Decorate the jars and use one of those net thingies (I don’t know what they are called but they are like the material they use for Organza bags) and use that to cover the top and tie it with ribbons of your wedding colors.

I agree with the honey though honey is expensive now a days but a cute idea. Tea lights are a great idea. You can add sand 1/3 of the way of the jar them place a tea light on top them wrap cap in ribbon.

here u can buy cherry blossom tea light $8.95 for a dozen or go to walmart and get 50 white tea lights for $4

good luck

Decorate the jar & lid, use a metallic sharpie to write your name and wedding date on it and it can double as a keepsake when the jar is empty.

Homemade hot chocolate mix, or something of the like. Also, if you made a peppermint or cinnamon hot chocolate mix it can be used as aromatherapy stuff too.

Or homemade candles. Wax and wicks are cheap at places like Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. Color the wax to your wedding colors and make your own candles. You can also get scented oils to add to the wax to make them smell like the flowers of your choice.

Fill the jars with homemade bath salts, bubble bath, sugar scrubs, or spa like treatments.

Fill the jars with soil, and plant a few seeds in each one (various types of seeds, but make sure they’re small plants) and use them as place holders/keepsakes. Put a plant tag with the type of plant on one side, and the guest’s name on the other side.

You can actually bake cupcakes in glass jars. Put cake mix in (search the web for proper preparation times) and frost them. Tie a ribbon around the top with a small wooden spoon attached.
