How do I word a wedding invitation…?

when the bride’s parents are hosting and the ceremony and reception are backyard poolside at the bride’s parents house? Thank you.

I think that you would just list the location of the wedding, with reception following. You may want to check out templates at and They have some great samples. Also, if you look at wedding invitation samples you can borrow their wording.

something like this?

angela and john smith
invite you to attend
the marriage of
their daughter
son of
mitch and gail jones

the wedding and reception will take place in the bride’s family home
at 222 angel place

then you add the date and time and r.s.v.p. of course

You can word the invitation however you want. If you want to write it as though your parents are inviting the guests, which is more traditional, it would be something like:
Mr and Mrs _______
request the pleasure of your company
at the marriage of their daughter

But a more modern way to put it is:
request the pleasure of your company etc.

I think that’s cool that you’re doing a poolside wedding. I went to one once and they had fresh flowers and floating candles floating in the pool. I was so pretty.

all kinds of ideas on here! if you click bride and groom inviting.. the 2nd one on that page is what i’m using.. but my situation is different! hope this helps :)
