My fiancee and I are planing to get married June 23, 2012. We want a memorable day, but we don’t want to spend a fortune. It’s about the marriage not a big fancy wedding. Any suggestion, comment, ideas or thoughts would be great. Thanks

Church wedding followed by luncheon or cake and punch reception in the church’s fellowship hall.

Good luck!

If you and your fiance both saved $10 a day until your wedding day, you would have roughly $7300 :) that is a wedding on a budget & a good price! Thats just a thought to put it into perspective…save your money this year! As much as you can… Ok now onto the fun stuff…

Cut your guest list, honestly $7300 is pretty steep if you want a small cheap wedding…but you would not be asking this question if you wanted a cheapy chapel wedding, right?

Limit your guest list to people you BOTH know…and close family.

Find a place to get married & have the reception at. Outdoors is perfect in June, Church is another perfect spot, you could have the reception in the basement if you don’t care about not having liquor!

Back yard BBQ’s are becoming pretty common now, renting some big tents incase of rain, get married under the beautiful summer sky, have a lunch of grilled chicken & burgers, grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes, caesar salad, fresh fruit & have it all prepared by family! (I know if I were to do this my aunts would be lining up to partake in it!)

DIY is perfect, make your own invites, have all rsvp’s be my email or phone…flowers…get a bunch of inseason wild flowers and carry those! Decorate your outdoor tables with wild flowers as well! Cut alcohol from the menu, that is a HUGE savings right there!

It is so do-able, think outside of the box and don’t let anyone make you feel bad for having a budget.

ALSO.
You can just get married with close family and friends at the courthouse. In your backyard. and plan for 50 people. no shame in that as well!
