I have to design a wedding invitation, how much do I charge?

by DIY wedding planner on October 15, 2012

I normally design other types of stuff, but this job came up, so I want to take it, because it is friends of friends, but I don’t work for free. What is a good price to charge for it? The design will only take me about two days to complete (I know how to work fast and effective), but then I have to print it, that is separate though.

Look on http://www.etsy.com for comparable invites and see how much they charge.

Not sure but what I can tell you is take in mind-
-Time it takes to complete
-cost of material
(blank cards, lettering, etc)
-How many you’re creating
Add that all up + labor (what you think your talent is worth)
There’s your answer.

Definatley charge them, but you were referred by a friend. Maybe you should look into the details of the couple. do they own a business or have a special talent that you may be able to trade your services for? I would be careful with my charges. Unless you do this as a profession, if you charge to much you may create hard feelings between your friend and the friend of the friend.
