I would like to make my own wedding invitations, but need help finding the materials?

by DIY wedding planner on October 10, 2013

I found this wedding invitation that I really like

I would like to make them by hand, but am having trouble finding the right materials. Of course, I don’t expect to find the exact materials, but would like something similar. I’ve checked hobby lobby and michael’s, but haven’t had any luck. I’de be grateful for any help.

JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts have lots things you could use to make invitations like that. They have all kinds of fabric and lots of card making supplies as well.

Congrats on the upcoming nuptials.

It looks like a fancy scrap book paper overlay. However, the three D items will make mailing them almost impossible. The pearls are on filament and you can string your own or they are actually at micheals (you would have to cut them down). Look at various paper sites : I like papersource.com. They specialize in handmade wedding invitations. Google scrapbooking and you will find hundreds as well. The butterflies are usually found in faux flower sites (floral sites)- try a google as well. But again, too bulky and the post office is going to ruin them cancelling them.

Have you thought about mailing those? they are too bulky for regular mail and are square. You are going to be paying a lot to mail each one.

that is pretty basic card. You can find that stuff at any craft store- JoAnn, Hobby Lobby or Michael’s .
I have seen lace paper like that and the butterfly and pearls you may want to look over in the floral section. I have seen that at HL.
Those kinds of butterflies usually come in a pack.
