My wedding is 9/5/09. (inside)…Please know that im a DIY bride and most everything has been really cheap to buy or i’ve done my self! Colors are Navy blue and White, I’m stumped on the flowers still! I’m most likely going w/ silk cause we can’t afford real ones. So how does this bouquet look? Keep in mind i’ll be changing the purple to navy. http://www.bestblooms.co.nz/images/trailingbouquetofsunflowersandlisianthus.jpg

Other wedding ideas would be: Chocolate covered sunflower seeds wrapped in tulle and a ribbon, for favors.
I have a bunch of empty like jam and jelly jars I got at a garage sale? What could I do w/ those like along the lines of small center pieces for the long rectangle tables. Probably about 12 tables maybe. Do you think sunflower seeds in their shells in the bottom of the jar, and then a votive candle burning in it? Any and all Ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced! I’d kind of like to use the sunflower theme, unless you think its just so stupid.. idk.. thanks!
If you have seen a better looking, prettier bouquet w/ sunflowers please show me:)
Just wanted to say that Im from Kansas! lol The sunflower state! I also like the tulips as somone mentioned down there, but I can’t find silk tulips that look great, and I was worried they’d be a spring flower. I think I am starting to like the hand held bouquets and not the cascade one. idk I like both, but the hand held one would be cool. I liked this charm to hang on it, w/ a pic of my grandpa who just past away before Thanksgiving. So I would know he would be there w/ me. http://www.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/08/jmw0675.jpg But thanks everyone for all the great and nice answers!

I like your sunflower theme. I am DYI person too! However that large of a bouquet can really over take your dress. Plus the whole cascading flower is really not modern. Here is a link I found in Google images. I just searched with Sunflower Bridal

Good luck.

Substitute the other colors with white flowers

Wrap the jam jars with navy ribbons just below the lip and put sunflowers in the jars. Don’t put shells in there. Do rocks or sunflower leaves.

I really like that bouquet, it’s so pretty! And if you’re trying to save, have your girls carry 3 large sunflowers tied with a ribbon: simple and elegant.
The sunflower seeds sound like a great favor, and is a good way to carry through the sunflower theme. Especially perfect for a fall wedding!
Not a fan of the votive candle with seeds in a jar centerpiece. If you’re cutting back on costs, why not do silk sunflower centerpieces or use fruit? To go with the yellow theme, get a bunch of lemons and put them in a glass container: voila, centerpiece! For effect, put some mini fake navy colored flowers alongside the lemons.

Here’s some ideas.

Something like that, but with mini navy flowers instead of the yellow ones. Elegant, cheap and chic! You can still use votive candles around the centerpieces.

I tried searching for sunflower bouquets for you, but the one you picked is the prettiest. :)

Good luck and congrats!

There is this bouquet: http://www.lerheebouquets.com/view_photo.html?id=26&image=image1 Just change the light blue to navy….and the lavendar to white.

Check out ebay seller http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Yesss-i-do-weddings__W0QQ_armrsZ1

I got my silk bouquets, corsages, etc from her and they were fabulous. AND VERY AFFORDABLE. Only $163 for 6 bridesmaid bouquets, my bouquet, a toss bouquet, 6 corsages and 10 boutineers.

I am a DYI bride also. I went with all silk flowers as my mom can arrange flowers really well. We went to Micheal’s while they were having a sale, every stem was half off. We bought enough flowers to make 5 bouquets, 7 bouts, two big center pieces, 12 table centers and my bouquet for 200. Amazing!

I am doing simple centerpieces with tall cylinder vases that have 3 gerbera daisies each. Very simple and cheap. You could do the same. Just buy sunflowers and add one or two to a vase.

Congratulations!! I like the sunflower thing pretty well. It’s kind of hard to find the bridal bouquet. I really like tulips or lilys maybe you could combine those in there some how. The candle jar thing is a good idea too and maybe tie some ribbon around the outside and put miniature sunflowers down inside on top of the seeds.

I think your bouquet is gourgeous.
The favors are a different and neat idea.
I don’t really care for your centerpeice idea. Maybe instead of candles you can put sunflowers. Unless of course you use a navy blue taper candle in it and then find a sunflower ribbon to tie around the jar. That might look nice. Just play with it and I’m sure you’ll come up with something spectacular.

No advice . . . just wanted to say I love the bouquet you’ve shown with the sunflowers and the roses.

Good luck with your planning.

This is just my opinion but if the colors are going to be blue and white then I would not go with sunflowers in the mix. Take a look at blue Moring Glories! Put them together with white Carnations and the two colors are stunning together! Here is a good picture of some blue Morning Glories http://www.cafepress.com/cp/moredetails.aspx?showBleed=false&ProductNo=361327346&colorNo=0&pr=F

Not a fan. I like sunflowers, but the cascading bouquets are soo eighties. I suggest a handheld:

I don’t like the idea of the sunflowers in the bouquet, I know you said you’re from KS. blue and yellow and white roses…eh, I’m just not into it. can you replace them with white gerber daisies? they sort of look like sunflowers a little.

with the jars you have, maybe you can fill them with soil and plant seeds in them and grow flowers to use as centerpieces. tie a ribbon around it to make it look spiffy and then put votives around that on the table.

I love your ideas on here, they are so creative and different.

hey since you dont allow email i wanted to make sure i could tell you this, petalbypetal.com has the cheapest wooden roses i have seen i’m getting a package of 96 engraved roses for $50 something, so if its in your price range and budget you should totally go for it, not only are they a great decoration but also a great favor idea for your guests.
