Lanterns, especially distressed lanterns, make great choices for lighting a rustic wedding reception. Hang them from rafters or trees. Consider round paper lanterns to hang inside a tent – and have lots of them so they get an illuminated effect. Candles look great in small lanterns or distressed bird cages – but be sure to use battery operated candles to avoid any windy mishaps. String white lights around for a romantic touch.

Here is a blog that is set in a backyard with diy lighting

and here are the instructions to make the mason jar lights

Using paper lanterns and grapevines

You could also use something similar to this (make sure to scroll all the way down)

These would be good for tables

These would be nice to hang in trees

This picture shows a good idea of incorporating an oil lamp and string lights

More ideas

I hope that you like some of those ideas! Good luck and congrats!
