I need opinions. I am getting married in August and am really struggling with favors. We can’t afford much but I want to do *something*. I stumbled across this page:

http://www.merrimentdesign.com/handsewn-fabric-tea-bags-for-loose-tea-favors.php

It is for a DIY tea bar in which we supply empty tea bags and guests can fill them with a variety of loose leaf teas we set out. I like it because it’s totally different, but I can’t seem to find much info. Has anyone done this or seen this done? How did it turn out?
Thanks!

Holy CRAP I would LOVE to be a guest at your wedding.

Be sure to put lots of different sorts and categorize them on a taste spectrum. You know, bitter, sweet, fruity, etc. You wouldn’t want non-tea drinkers getting a tea bag they regret!

I think that sounds like a great idea. Maybe do a coffee bar too because tea-drinkers and coffee-drinkers tend to be different breeds and this way you cover both.

That looks great, I love the idea! What other info do you need to find? They seem to have covered it all.

The only thing I would probably do different, is reduce the packaging. They have clear plastic bags, paper bags, and takeout boxes. In my opinion, you only need ONE of those, or some other kind of bag. I would probably look for a glassine bag, they are somewhat translucent but also smooth, giving the feeling of protecting the tea until it is used.

Loose leaf teas can be expensive, at least where I live. But you dont want to go too cheap. I would probably go online and compare prices.
