Vintage themed wedding?

by DIY wedding planner on August 13, 2012

Any ideas for anything will be great. I already have the invitations. I’m up for anything DIY. Any general advice would be appreciated, too. Thanks. :)

If you can, collect vintage tablecloths to use on the tables. No need to get the right size as you can place a vintage tablecloth over a white tablecloth. Perhaps collect vintage vases in various sizes with cut flowers on the tables? You could swag fabric along the head table and at the top of each swoop, place a vintage broach. Start off a great collection of Milk Glass for yourself by buying up all you can to decorate the tables. Milk glass looks great at night with candles in them, too.

In the bathrooms, use vintage linens and decorate the vanity with vintage items like vintage dresser containers and such with a nosegay on the vanity.

look on ebay – i have seen some great vintage bridesmaids dresses on there

look in the vintage shops and have you considered a vintage tea party for the reception? or for straight after the ceremony

You’ll be divorced in 2 years, don’t worry.

what era do you want to represent. if you decide first upon what era, you can find tons of ideas for helping to recreate that.

if you want a victorian era wedding or a 1920′s, 30′s ’40′s 50′s, there are all sorts of ideas. or if you want to go farther back and do a jane austen wedding or regency period, or Elizabethan or renaissance or ancient greek or egyptian.

once you decide on the era you want, then you can start to look for things to make it happen.
