I’m working on creating my DIY programs and I’ve run into a little problem. On most programs I’ve seen the people list the role, the person, and how they know them like:
Maid of Honor – Jane Doe – Sister of Bride

Now one of my personal attendants is my fiance’s brother’s girlfriend. I’m not really friends with her – I kind of only agreed to have her be a personal attendant to keep the peace in the family. So I don’t know what to call her in the “how I know them” part. I don’t want to call her a friend of the couple because she’s really not and Groom’s Brother’s Girlfriend doesn’t have a great ring to it either lol Any suggestions???

A couple of options…..

You DON’T have to list how you know the person. Meaning, you can simply say:

Bridesmaid: Jane Doe

But if you want to list the relationship (friend of the bride, etc.), what is wrong with saying “friend of the bride/groom”? Really, that is not inappropriate.

OR…you can say…”family acquaintance” or “family friend.”

Just an idea/suggestion.

Programs are tacky, leave them out.

Leave the personal attendants off the list. They aren’t part of the wedding party and that’s really who should be listed, along with anyone doing readings. These are just made-up jobs the wedding industry has come up with, anyway.

You have two options:

1. Don’t list anyone’s role
2. List her as “Friend of Groom”. That may not be completely accurate, but I since you mention you added her to keep the peace in the family, I suppose he must have agreed or possibly have been the one to ask you to include her. With that in mind, she’s closer to being his friend than yours. And “groom’s brother’s girlfriend” would definitely not work.
