What are some unique wedding favors that are cheap?

by DIY wedding planner on March 1, 2013

I am getting married in September and I am just trying to get a few ideas for some cheap do it yourself wedding favors…or any tips at all lol. My colors are “Pool and Truffle”
Thank you everyone for the ideas! I am thinking about going with the homemade goodies in a cute little box/bag and a sticker with our monogram or something on it. Its not an extravagant wedding, less than 75. But I really appreciate every ones feedback!

nice, I like brown and blue. someone posted an etsy.com link on here a few days ago with some super cool tile magnets that an artist did with the wedding date on them. etsy.com has tons of wedding stuff for cheap. I think they were under $2 each. if you just give 1 favor per couple that’ll save a ton. the easiest way to do that is attach the escort cards to the favors.

Flower bulbs in a burlap sack are cute and inexpensive….we got that once at a wedding and I thought it was very original.

I am d.i.y. for my wedding favors as well. I thought it would be kind of neat to do home-made truffles but roll them in high quality sprinkles that match the wedding colors.

I am putting them in clear individual sized boxes that fit about 4 each but I think they would be just as nice in plastic with a bow.

Another cute idea I have seen for wedding favors are home-made cookies but with printed stickers on the front of the bag with the wedding info on it in very ornate writing.

best wishes!

Neat colours!

If your wedding is outdoors, sparklers are a fun idea. We got these at an outdoor reception that ran into the night and it was a blast lighting them up as the party really got going.

If you’re really on a budget though, you can really skip favours. Few people miss them.

I totally agree with Perse and her sentence above. If they have to be cheap, then skip the favors!

Put that money toward the food and beverages . . . or something else for the guests’ comfort . . . and skip all the favors. Favors are non-essentials.

don’t know how big your wedding is… my suggestion isn’t cheap but was most peeps favorite part of our reception. we had a photobooth. it was set up and unlimited pictures. the guest got to take there pictures and i got a disk with copies. there was a lot of making out in the booth and it was so fun! It was $700 for 4 hours.

If not, everyone loves sweets. If your grandmother has a signature fudge or somthing like that.

A wedding I went to, the bride and groom wrote everyone a letter. She had it placed on all of our plates. It was very nice, and I still have it today.

You can buy beautiful bags that are small from OTC and fill with your cookie, candy, etc. $8 for 96 bags is reasonable.

I’ve seen personalized coasters, miniature candy tied in tulle, notepads, individually wrapped truffles, napkin ring frames, and tiny birds nests filled with candies.

You’ll figure it out and it will be wonderful!

I would go with a cute tin that has an oversize truffle inside-

here is a damask brown and pool blue lable idea with mini tin: http://bellamevents.theaspenshops.com/product/unexpected-pleasures-favor-tin-with-pretied.html

You can make cinnamon sugar and put it in a little glass shaker wrap with cello and ribbon. Shakers are under a $1.
