What can I include in a Wedding Time Capsule?

by DIY wedding planner on July 2, 2012

I am getting married next year, and I was thinking of a few fun DIY projects for the reception. The one I am having a little trouble with is the Wedding Time Capsule.

In summary, I want it to be sort of like a slam book, with specific guest predictions about the bride and groom, what life was like the day of the wedding (current events/gas prices/etc.), and funny sayings. The cards the guests will write on will be multicolored, each color defining a set number of years before the bride and groom can read it. Red is 1 year, green is 5 years, etc.

I have a few ideas about what questions I want to include, but not that many! Any suggestions for me?

What a great idea! Some questions you may want to include in addition to your current events could be:
1. What is the color of her first night together nightie?
2. What will they name a boy?
3. What will they name a girl?
4. When did they have their first fight? (Hey, it will happen)
5. Who made up first?
6. What is the first restaurant they ate together as a married couple?

These are just a few, but basically in your mind walk through a lifetime and you will be surprised how many you can come up with. And/Or you can pick up the board game The Newlywed Game and get a multitude of questions right at your fingertips! Congrat’s to you and Good Luck in compiling your questions!

For current event questions you could include things like popular songs, popular movies, politics, current jobs etc.

For future predictions:
How many kids will the couple have (and what age they will have their first child)?
Names of kids?
Where will the couple live?
Where will they be working?
What will the be wearing in 10 years time (fashion predictions)?
Where will they go for their first holiday (other than the honeymoon)?
