My mom had us make our own bouquets out of fake flowers for her wedding. We got the material from Michael’s.

I did my own invitations (michael’s kit), and am currently working on program fans (michael’s kit). Some other completely DIY items are, guest book table centerpieces and decorations, and reserved seating place cards for immediate family and bridal party at the reception.

You can DIY..

Boquets/Bouttaneires (spelling?? haha)
Print your own invitations
Cupcakes (instead of a wedding cake)
Ring Pillow
Flower Girl Basket
Save the Date Cards, Programs, and Seating Cards
A decorated guest book, card box, photo album, or other keepsake

Honestly everything can be done yourself..it just depends on how you want your wedding..really you can make the alter..a reception music cd..table set ups..heck you can even make the food and stuff.. it just depends on how DIY crazy ya wanna get :)

We printed our own Save the Dates, and we’re making our own invitations using a kit from Michael’s. We’ll be putting together wedding favors with candle glasses, candy, and organza material tied around them. I’m adding new glass beads to my mother’s veil to wear and help it match with my dress better.

I did my own flowers, ordered them from Costco. Made my own invitations from an idea I came up with. Did some of my own decorations, made my cake stands: took a large clear glass jar (like the ones pickles come in) put white roses inside of them and then glued a round piece of wood as big as the cake to the lid. The cakes sat on top and there was red ribbon attached to the lid also. It was really pretty. Make your own center pieces, I had a square of orange fabric with a square mirror off set on top, and then a margarita glass with orange marbles and water with a red rose floating candle. Really pretty and adding flower petals on the table looked really good. Oh, my mom made my veil so it cost $10 instead of $140. Hope that helps.

We designed and printed all the wedding stationery ourselves – invitations, menus, thank you cards, etc.

I made my own wedding chandelier earrings.

I designed the table centrepieces.

We wrote all the words spoken for the wedding ceremony (except for a few official lines), including our vows. The celebrant then did the rest.

One of my family friends made and decorated our wedding cake.

You can DIY everything for your wedding! Especially if you have the help of your partner and family. We made menus, welcome bags, and our pictures/video ourselves. We had a destination wedding so we didn’t have a lot of the regular wedding stuff.
I got a great DIY wedding book and it outlined everything really well. It was perfect, and I suggest seeing if you can one like it at your local library or at a bookstore. Congratulations!
