What do you think of this idea for our wedding favors?

I’m trying to come up with DIY wedding favors and we both agree that we want it to be something edible and chocolate. I was thinking of either making those delicious oreo cookie balls or brownies and putting them in their own cellophane bag with our wedding colors as the ribbons with a card that has our names and wedding date on one side and “Thanks for Making Our Wedding Day Sweet!” There are no diabetics coming to our wedding, so I know that basis is covered. We were thinking that it might be nice to do that because everyone says how good our home made brownies and candies and cookies are. Otherwise, we’ll probably just end up buying those salt and pepper shakers shaped like doves or something. But we thought it might be nice for us to do something more personalized like fresh baked goods. Thoughts?

I like it! I lose all those mini doves shaped favors I get. At least your favor would be enjoyed.

That sounds like a nice idea. However, I do think that most guests couldn’t care less about wedding favors and wouldn’t notice if you didn’t have them.

My only concern is keeping them fresh in between the time you bake them and the big day.

The last thing you’re going to want to be doing in the final days before the wedding … is baking. If you have a solid commitment from someone who can do them and store them so they taste like they were baked today, then go for it. I would do the actual wrapping in the cellophane bags as late as possible, so the cookies are stored air-tight for as long as possible before.

I really love this idea. I bake a lot, too … and my biggest concern would be the logistics of getting them baked and done, and how to store them so they’re still fresh and yummy. If you can work that out, then go for it, and BIG congrats !!

i think that’s a great idea… Go for it… If you buy the salt and pepper shakers honestly it would be a waste of money, i mean have you ever been to a house and actually seen the family use those.
No one really keeps the favors, honestly … if they did you know how many favors they would have lying around the house.

Go with your creative idea, i think everyone would appreciate it.. and hey who doesn’t love something sweet and delicious…

Good Luck!!
