Check out Preston Bailey’s website for top-notch inspiration. I met him a year ago and have followed his work ever since. An incredible wedding designer!

what do you mean by “wedding design business” ? in the united states, there are very few wedding designers being employed by brides for real weddings. if you think what is seen on tv reality shows is real, it is not.

in some large cities wedding designers may be able to find enough business to make a living, but that would only be in new york or chicago, atlanta or las angeles. to be successful you would need an inside track into the lives of the rich and famous since normal ordinary brides never use a wedding designer.

now if you are in another country, especially a third world country, wedding designing is a decent business to be in but not easy to start. you either need to attend design school courses or gain experience by working for another designer.

you can work as a flower arranger by getting a job with a florist, but that is not confined to weddings and these days many brides are doing their own so there is less call for an arranger.

what do you mean by the best site for wedding design ideas? normally, most brides use sites like http://www.theknot.com/ or http://www.weddingwire.com/ or http://www.weddingbee.com/ for posting and sharing ideas.

i agree with the other poster concerning preston bailey. he is an event planner/designer who is top of the line and he has correspondance courses which teach event planning and design and which are college accredited.

The knot and David Tuteras’s My Fair Wedding site. However, please note, these sites are trendy. For instance, almost all wedding bouquets in pictures shown on the internet or for that matter much of anywhere over at least the last 15 years have been clutch style. Florists like this style because it takes much less time and talent to create.

BTW, I agree with the other posters especially with regard to location. If you want to be a party planner or a florist, you need to be in the right circles to make money.

I think that if you really want to see what today’s bride is lusting after, Pinterest is the place to be. You can see the different designs, and brides’ reactions to them. You can also determine popularity by the number of “pins”. This can give you a great start, and some ways of getting some advice that you can pass along to your brides. Good Luck!

Well thats real adventurous that you want to break into the wedding design business, and quite frankly who am I to discourage you. I don’t know if you just want to be a local designer or whether you want to be ambitious and travel around the world designing, organizing and setting-up matrimonies. But I will say that it is very competitve market and unless you can somehow carve a niche out for yourself and put yourself in high demand, then yoiu might find that the money just isn’t there – if that’s what you’re after. But hey, if you just like designing and it’s a passion them I’m sure a lot of people getting married would love to have someone professional to assist them and help them prepare for that special day! Who knows…by providing your services for free, at least initially, that may be just the key to carving out a niche for yourself that may have little demand in certain areas and demographics at the present time. Also, you can try targeting rich people who throw around money for these types of things all the time. Oh and BTW one of the best wedding sites I’ve ever seen is weddinspire. Great designs, pics, supportive community and all that you’re probably looking for. Hope this helps!
