Where to buy easy DIY wedding invitations?

by DIY wedding planner on December 9, 2011

I saw a couple of boxes at Target that were cute enough. (At this point it’s coming down to the wire- we just need something semi decent. Unfortunately, I didn’t win any Letterpress invitation giveaways! Haha.) But yeah, basically I just need to know where to look. Thanks guys. Help me out!

I bought mine at Joann’s. They were easy to put together and Joann’s has a great selection :) I also know that Walmart sells the kits, too.

I went to Michael’s, it’s an arts and craft store. The brand I used was called Brides and you can view their selection at brides.com.
It took some time but well worth the savings!

STAPLES. Go to staples and get the invitations. But buy extra envelopes too. It actually is cheaper to pay someone to print them for you. Much easier, less hassle, and comes out great. Low price on plain white invitations.

I used a brand called Wilton Print, comparable to BRIDES at Michaels.

Smartest thing I ever did was making my own invites! You’re on the right track. Its a pain but once they’re done, they’re done! And you know exactly who got one etc

I’ve seen cute ones at Target and Office Depot. I had mine designed at printablepress.com. You choose a template, they edit the text for you, and you get the .pdf file. You can print them yourself, use a local printing store (Kinkos, etc), or use an online printer. I’m using catprint.com for printing. They have great rates and a really fast turn around. Congrats and good luck!

I got mine at JoAnn fabrics.. I love them. They always have 40 or 50% off coupons that you can use towards them. The ones I picked out were $29.99 for a box of 25 invites.. 1/2 off, you can’t beat that!

A quick way to create your wedding invitations is to go CropMom.com at http://www.cropmom.com.

Upload your photos. Make your invitation using them. You can add your own text. There are thousands of graphics to choose from to create your invitation. The site has templates and kits organized by themes.

Then save it. Go to My CropMom and click on the layout. Then click the “share” link. It’ll let you enter the email address of the recipient, and your screen-quality invitation will be sent via email for free.

For print-quality, you can purchase a JPEG file of your creation (it doesn’t cost much- for less than $2) and download it to your computer.

From here, you can either print your invitation at home. Or have them printed by a photo finisher.
