This bride to be would have rathered had someone do all the print work, addressing, stuffing, going to the post office and mailing them for her… but as luck would have it, dang… not in the budget… that was a HUGE cut in my budget when i purchased a blank do it ourself invitations, rsvp cards, and envelopes for both. Total cost for 120 complete invitations and stamps ( including ink ) $130.00 not so bad when you compare it.. but it is a lot of work so i completely understand why the charge so much more to do them for you… and just a quick note… when you go to buy your stamps, make sure you take a complete invitation that you would mail out so they can weigh it… the lady refused to sell me the 44 cent stamps just in case the exceded the the 1 once weight… she was right… it would have looked terrible with added postage on them… but i did have to make 3 trips to the post office… once to be turned back home to get the invitation, second time to buy the stamps ( 44 cent ones ) and the third to mail them off …

to me the invites are important, but not woth spending a fortune on

i ordered some off walmart.com, and printed them off myself. it only was 60 bucks for 150 invites, plus postage.

Whichever fits both her budget and her taste. I would love to buy custom invites if I could afford it, but it’s not worth the additional costs when there are so many other areas of my wedding budget that I would rather use that money for (ex. gown, reception decor, flowers, etc). To me, the invitations are important – but not so important that I would spend a ton of money on them. So we are making our own by hand. They will be custom made and still cheaper than buying custom ones. We have designed them in such a way that they are about the same cost as generic ones because we bought materials on sale.

I think most people would prefer to be unique. There’s a site that allows budget-minded bride to do-it-herself (DIY) but the kit arrives ready to assemble. Their designs are very nice and their papers are mostly eco-friendly. Throw an assembly party to get it done in a fast and fun fashion.

Yes, invitations are important it sets the tone for the theme of your wedding. But it doesn’t need to be expensive. You just need to be creative with your invitations, there are nice DIY tutorials online on how to make fantastic invites. Make it personal and let your invitation tell your love story ;)
