There are many ways to plan a wedding and we know that brides today are looking for bargains. Many of us don't have $50,000 to spend on our dream wedding and we have an inkling that for $10,000 we can have a very beautiful wedding and save some money. My father-in-law looked at us after we had spent many thousands on our wedding and said, "you should have put some of this money up for a down payment on a house." My wife looked at him with incredulity and said, "Dad, why didn't you say something earlier - before we had spent our entire savings." Now, of course, we could have taken a step back and asked the same question but we didn't. He is older, wiser and could see what we could not at the time so we held him partly responsible for our imprudence. Oh well, we had a beautiful wedding!
