Rather than spending the thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars on diamonds, remember that diamond jewelry makes for a great “something borrowed” on your wedding day. If you have family jewels, take them out of the lockbox for your special day. Or, if you have a close family friend who works in a jewelry shop, ask if the store will lend you some of its beautiful baubles. Of course, should you borrow anything, be sure to treat it as your own with the best possible care, and return it before you leave for the honeymoon.
